Throughout his life he belonged and served in various organizations, including the Humboldt American Legion, Humboldt Community Club, Humboldt Snowmobile Club, bowling league, was on the Farm Credit Board, member of the Central Valley Golf Course, Ducks Unlimited and served as a Clear Lake Township Clerk.
