Kenneth Roger Thomas

After a valiant battle with aggressive cancer, Kenneth Roger Thomas of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, went to be with the Lord at 74 on Monday morning, May 15th, 2023. He passed away surrounded by his family in the Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. He was born on January 16th, 1949, in Portland, Oregon, and was the son of the late Benjamin Thomas and the late Doris Thomas of Palatka, Florida.
He leaves behind his wife, Carolyn Wright Thomas; his sons Stephen Thomas and Christopher Thomas; Stepchildren Kelley Batson Howard and Jennifer Batson; Brother Daryl Thomas; Grandchildren Natalie Toland and Nicholas Toland; and Step-Grandchildren Rebecca West and Sarah Parent.
He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Thomas; mother, Doris Rayburn Thomas; daughter Kathryn Toland; and sister, Sherry Morris.
Kenneth Roger Thomas was a 1968 graduate of Palatka High School. Roger, a military veteran, served in the United States Armed Special Forces Green Beret, where he was an airborne ranger, paratrooper, and sergeant first class. He worked for Florida Power and Light for 47 years, ending his career at Saint Lucie Nuclear Power Plant on Hutchinson Island. Roger was always very active in the community. He was a member of multiple non-profit organizations. He served as the President of the Florida JC Senate for Florida. He was also a member of the United Way, a Shriner, and a Mason; these are just a few of the many organizations he participated in. Roger worked very hard at achieving success in his life and was very accomplished. Roger was well-known in the community and loved by everyone who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, May 22nd, 2023, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 noon, at All County Funeral Home, 1616 SE Port Saint Lucie, FL 344952. Military Honors for Kenneth will be held at 11:00 AM. Friends and family are welcome to gather after the Service at 2771 SE Bluem Way, Port Saint Lucie, FL 34952
