Kenneth F. Willison, a proud veteran of the Navy, serving in Korea and the Vietnam war passed away May 13, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was the son of John G. Willison and Edith Swaney, born August 30, 1932, in Cambridge, Ohio. Married December 8, 1951, to Marjorie F. Chalfant for 58 years. They had 4 daughters, Tonya, Debby, Patty and Marjorie. Married August 14, 2010, to Alice Harris for 6 years.
Not only was he part of the Navy, he was also part of the Fleet Reserve of the Navy, Confederate Air Force, and Captain of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 55. And if you thought having done all that was a huge accomplishment, he also graduated from college and taught at Chesapeake Technical Center. And THEN instructed children gun safety at the Norfolk County Rifle Range while being a member of the NRA.
His many hobbies included restoring antique cars, fishing, boating, woodworking, making utility trailers, piloting his own planes while visiting family and friends, chainsaw sculpting, and writing poetry. He seemed to have endless energy---he never stopped and was always thinking of what he could try next.
He was preceded in death by 14 beloved family members: his parents, four sisters, two wives, two daughters, grandson and great grandson. Surviving family members are two daughters, 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
There will be no formal visitation, viewing will begin Friday, May 16th at Graham Funeral Home & Crematory, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake starting at 12 noon and each day until service. The graveside service with military honors will be Monday, May 19, 2025 at 12 noon at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk.
