Remembering Kevin P. Connaughton
Kevin passed peacefully at his home on the evening of March 27th, 2023.
Kevin was born on September 30, 1948 to parents Daniel and Catherine Connaughton from Ireland where he was raised with his sister Celia in Queens, New York. Kevin attended Mater Christi Diocesan High School and went on to College at Xavier University where he was top of his class and earned a scholarship to UNH where he taught economics and made lifelong friendships.
Kevin moved to Stamford, CT in 1977 working at Clairol where he was a transportation analyst. He then worked at Georgia Pacific and eventually became a Realtor. Kevin met his wife Angela from Westport, CT on St. Patrick's Day in 1980 and married in 1981. Having moved to Silvermine they had two boys Kevin and James then built their home in Westport, CT in 1985 where his beloved wife Angela was by his side for 41 years.
Kevin loved sports, the Jets and Mets but especially playing tennis and loved playing basketball around Queens and Bayside as a young man. He coached his son's soccer and basketball teams and loved swimming at Burying Hill Beach with his wife Angela.
He loved his Irish heritage and was a long time member of the Gaelic-American Club and dual citizen of Ireland. KMAN was the life of the party and loved music. Many nights were spent dancing in the living room laughing and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Angela Connaughton, children Kevin and James Connaughton and sister Celia Swing, husband Bob and nephews Bobby, Joseph and Mark.
