HOULTON, Kevin John Cummings, 65, started his "long goodbye" on April 3, 2019. He said his final goodbyes and went to his heavenly home to be reunited with his parents, his sister, and his grandson Carter on June 20, 2023. He was surrounded by his family, close friends, and the dedicated and caring staff of Madigan Estates. He was born on September 10, 1957, in Houlton, the son of Chester and Maxine (McGary) Cimmings.
Kevin and his wife Brenda would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on August 5, 2023. They had two children and twelve grandchildren. He loved his family fiercely and was always willing to brag on them whenever asked.
Kevin was a dedicated member at the Houlton Wesleyan Church for over thirty years. He loved his church family. Kevin retired from the Houlton Water Company and was very proud of his tenure of 33 years. He loved nature, the outdoors, and hunting. He especially enjoyed the three moose hunts in which he was able to participate. He loved reliving these experiences to anybody willing to listen.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Brenda Cummings. His two children, Darcie Nash and fiance Matt Chapman, Jeremy Cummings and wife Wanda Cummings. Eleven grandchildren, Noah and his significant other Natalie Rickards, Emma and her husband Kevin McAfee, Caleb, Jacob, Lucas, Chloe, Claira, Haven, Harper, Camden, and Charis. Three siblings, David Cummings and his wife Betty, Carol McLean and her husband Gary, and Linda Keith.
Kevin is predeceased by his mother and father, Maxine and Chester Cummings, sister, Mary Ann Cummings, and grandson, Carter Cummings.
The family would like to express their thanks to the wonderful, loving staff at Madigan Estates, as well as Dr. Abouleish. They provided Kevin with exemplary care and compassion.
There will be a graveside service held at Linneus Freewill Baptist Cemetery on July 11, 2023 at 11:00 with Pastor Jeremy Cummings officiating. To share condolences and memories online visit www.bowersfuneral.com
