On February 19, 2024, Kevin A. Kane, age 66, of North Kingstown, RI, was freed from his battle with cancer.
Born to the late Austin & Betty (O'Donnell) Kane, Kevin came into the world just as he departed - a fighter with the gentlest spirit. A lover of his Catholic faith, travel, music and quick-witted humor, Kevin's greatest joys involved anything that could be shared in the company of his loved ones. Among Kevin's most-treasured memories was traveling to Ireland with the Kane men to visit family. Kevin attended LaSalle Academy prior to his dedicated career working for the State of Rhode Island, which allowed him to showcase his innate ability to help others and bring beauty to his surroundings.
Kevin is survived by his siblings, Colleen Kane, Ashaway, RI; Michael (Rita) Kane, Wausau, WI; Beth (Fred) Lantz, Marietta, GA, and Maureen Kane, North Providence, RI. He is also survived by his cherished nieces and nephew, Colin, Mackenzie, and Brennan Lantz; Kristin (Luke) Kane Sonnleitner and Kaitlin (Casey) Stankowski, and his aunts, Anne McCarthy, North Kingstown, RI; Isabel (Carmine) Rao, Providence, RI; and Kathleen (late Ralph) Dykstra, Richmond, RI. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nina Kane.
Kevin was the great-nephew of the late Honorable Walter H. Reynolds, former Mayor of Providence who resided with the Kane family for 22 years and with whom Kevin shared a distinctive bond.
Visiting hours will take place at St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd, Warwick, RI 02886 on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 9:30AM-10:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30AM. Burial will follow at Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, 6365 Post Road, North Kingstown, RI 02852.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.

Kevin,
Thank you for so many laughs and great memories during your trips to the Emerald Isle. One memory that I´ll never forget was you all getting lost in a hire care in North Belfast and having to come and find you. Everything worked out well though as when we got home we were greeted to an `Irish´ breakfast fry and a cheeky pint of Guinness!! Rest in peace Kevin!
Please accept our sincerest condolences from all your family in Ireland x
