Rodney Kevin Kent, born on December 3, 1967, in Dallas, Texas, passed away on November 27, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Growing up in the close-knit community of Midlothian, Texas, Kevin attended Midlothian High School, where he played football and other sports and developed his passion for building meaningful connections. He furthered his education at Dallas Baptist University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Kevin was a people person, which served him well throughout his professional journey in sales. His work was a testament to his ability to make friends and form lasting relationships.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Kevin found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His love for the great outdoors was evident in his hobbies of hunting, fishing, and relishing the beauty of nature. He was also an avid sports enthusiast, with a particular devotion to rooting for the Dallas Cowboys.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Tracey Kent, their daughter (and pride and joy), Sheradin Kent, and his longtime partner, Tonya Sanders. He is also survived by his parents, George and Elizabeth Kent, brothers, David and Jeff Kent, uncle, Carl Boswell, and a multitude of other family and friends. His presence and love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
While Kevin's time with us was too short, the memories he leaves behind will forever hold a cherished place in our hearts. His love, laughter, and unwavering kindness will be remembered by all whose lives he touched.
A celebration of Kevin's life will be held in honor of the joy and love he brought into the lives of those around him on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 11 o'clock in the morning at Midlothian Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Midlothian Cemetery. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
"To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die; Kevin's spirit lives on through the love he shared and the memories he created."
