Kevin Scott Kitchens was born January 21, 1978, in Dallas, Texas to parents James Robert Kitchens and Debra Elaine Kitchens. He passed away July 19, 2022, in Denton, Texas.
Kevin was a Cub Scout, Webelo and Boy Scout reaching the rank of Eagle Scout. Attending Philmont Scout Ranch with his father and fellow scouts of Troop 744 was one of the highlights of his scouting career. Always carrying a ball in his hand and a love of sports, he played soccer, baseball, football, hockey and golf. Kevin was a co-founder of the Dallas Miniature Football League and enjoyed the camaraderie with fellow electric football enthusiasts including his son and brother. He was also an avid, life-long Seattle Seahawks fan.
He graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1996 having played the French Horn in the marching band as well as being a member of the Bryan Adams golf team. Kevin attended Texas Tech University where he met his wife, Jennifer. He graduated Texas Tech with a degree in Philosophy.
Kevin loved to travel and did so with his family his entire life, having visited many states and countries over the years. He also loved to fish and had a great affection for the outdoors enjoying camping and hiking with his son whenever possible.
His son Jackson was born in 2006 and Kevin considered Jackson and their relationship the best and most important thing in his life.
Kevin is survived by his son Jackson Kitchens, mother Debbie Kitchens, brother and sister-in-law Curtis and Janeal Kitchens, niece Ashton Kitchens and ex-wife Jennifer Kitchens. He is preceded in death by his father, James Kitchens.
There will be an Evening of Remembrance Friday, August 5, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Allen Family Funeral Options in Plano, Texas.
