Kevin P. Lutz, 70, beloved husband, father, grandfather and community fixture, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2025, in his Sinking Spring home. Born in Cumru Township on August 11, 1955, Kevin was a son of the late Melvin P. and Ruth M. (Kimmel) Lutz. He was a man defined by his deep roots in the community, his strong work ethic, and his warm, engaging spirit.

Kevin's early working years were spent on the Lutz Farm, Sinking Spring, cultivating a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors. He later dedicated nearly 40 years of his career to the Wyomissing Parks Department. Kevin genuinely loved his work, which allowed him to spend his days outdoors, where he could often be found interacting with the residents who frequented the parks. His presence helped shape the beauty and tranquility of Wyomissing's green spaces.

Alongside his wife, Deborah, Kevin was also an entrepreneur, as they successfully operated the Sinking Spring and Temple Dairy Queens.

A true tinkerer, Kevin's passion for fixing and restoring things kept him busy. Most days he could be found at his garage workbench, meticulously working on various projects. He possessed a vast and impressive knowledge of local history, often sharing insights into how the area had developed since his birth. Above all, Kevin will be remembered for his warmth, kindness and gift for conversation – he could speak to anyone and made friends wherever he went.

Kevin is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah Lutz, his three loving children: Tara Lutz, Thomas Lutz and Tracie Tarr; seven cherished grandchildren: Briana Kissinger, Kiersten, Kelsy and Trevor Moschak, Keegan Miller, and Zoey and Oliver Tarr; and one great-grandchild, Beckham Kissinger. Also surviving is a sister, Melanie Palubicki, and a brother, Kurt Lutz.

Kevin's legacy will live on in the parks he lovingly cared for, the businesses he built, and the countless lives he touched with his generosity and humor.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 3, 2025, at 12:30pm in Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 1 East Lancaster Avenue, Shillington, PA 19607, with Deacon Rick Lanciano, St. Ignatius Loyola Parish presiding. A viewing will be held in the funeral home from 10:00am-12:30pm. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum at Gethsemane Cemetery.
