In Loving Memory of Kimberly Dawn Peyton*April 19, 1964 – June 24, 2025
Kimberly Dawn Peyton, 61, of Waddy, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on April 19, 1964, Kimberly was a woman whose heart knew no bounds. Her life was a testament to kindness, warmth, and devotion to those she held dear. She found immense joy in the simple moments-especially in gathering with family and capturing the beauty of sunsets through her camera lens, a quiet reflection of the light she brought into the world.
Kimberly was a genuinely good-hearted soul who loved deeply and completely. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her with her selflessness, compassion, and unwavering love.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Elaine and Wally Masters, and her stepson Eric Peyton (whose wife Kimberly Peyton survives), her grandparents Earnest and Jean Morris, and her Aunt Joan Burge (Butch). Though they were gone from this world, their memory remained a constant source of strength and love in her life.
Kimberly is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry Peyton, with whom she shared 31 cherished years. She also leaves behind her children Michael Jesse (Jasmine), Lauren Bourgeois (Jason), her stepchildren Kari Peyton and Chris Peyton (Lindsey). Her love continues through her many grandchildren: Laina Jesse, London Jesse, Everly Jesse, Sophia Smith, Talea Smith, Greyson Bourgeois, Donovan Purnell, McKenzie Peyton, Lilly Peyton, Katie Peyton, Bryar Peyton, Zach Peyton, Eric Peyton and Kai Scheinost; and Tyler Lopez; great-grandchildren Charlotte Peyton and Isla Lopez. She is also survived by her brother Shane Masters (Rachel), who held a special place in her heart. Other survivors include her uncles Michael W. Morris (Linda) and Bobby Masters (Barbara).
Kimberly was retired from the state government, where her dedication and hard work were appreciated by many. In her retirement, she embraced life fully, spending time with loved ones and never missing an opportunity to watch the sun dip below the horizon.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends, who will carry her spirit with them always.
Funeral service will be on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Shannon Funeral Home in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Grove Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, Kentucky.
