Kristine Ruth Knowles, age 61 of Fremont, passed away following short illness on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at the Corewell Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Kris was born on July 26, 1962 in Alpena to Darrell and Peggy J. (Basore) Patton. Kris has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area where she graduated from Fremont High School in 1980 and had worked at Burger King and later at Walmart until her retirement. Kris enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and making you tube videos with them, photography, and volunteering at TrueNorth Community Services Christmas Programs. Kris was known for her sense of humor and determination with just a pinch stubbornness. She was always willing to help others and volunteered in the community in various areas for many years.
Kris is survived by her children, Colleen (fiancé, Max Myers) Nicholson of Fremont; Charles Knowles Jr. of Muskegon; Amber Knowles of Fremont; her grandchildren, Travis Knowles, Nathan Knowles, Tyrnner Knowles, Kamberlynn Knowles; her father, Darrell Patton of Hesperia; her sister, Kathleen "Kitt" (Bill) Latsch of Manistique, Michigan; step brothers and sisters, Scotti Herin; Lisa Gerdes; Bonnie (Pat) Rettkowski; Connie (Bruce) Zerlaut; Peter (Kelly) Pedersen; Gary (Lora) Pedersen. Kris was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Peggy and Victor Pedersen; her stepmother, Sally Patton; step brothers Greg Towne and Vic Pedersen Jr.; and her nephew Scott Latsch.
Following Kris' wishes, no services will be held at this time following cremation. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Kris Knowles family, c/o Crandell Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
