Kurt Lee Jaeger, age 71, of Loon Lake, NY and Palm Coast, FL died Sunday, May 4, 2025 under hospice care at his home in Florida surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Queens, New York, he was the son of Howard and Violet Jaeger. Kurt married Paige Evelyn in 1979. They were married for 45 years.
Kurt grew up on Long Island where he was an exceptional trumpet player. He held a BA of music from Hofstra University and an MBA from Adelphi University. Kurt was a CPA and spent most of his career in municipal finance as Assistant Superintendent of Schools at the Saratoga Springs City School District.
His passion for music was only surpassed by his love for his family and friends. He was so proud of his four sons and his eight grandchildren.
Kurt enjoyed serving the Lord in churches wherever they lived and has directed large choirs; led worship; played guitar and played in The Celebration Brass group.
Outside of work Kurt enjoyed fishing; biking; kayaking; hiking; tennis; and pickleball. He was the resident water-ski driver at Loon Lake, king of witty one-liners, and an inspiration to many young men. During his sickness he was grateful and humbled by the help and care of so many wonderful friends. He was a loving father, a devoted husband, a caring grandfather, and a committed Christian serving our Lord and savior Jesus Christ throughout his life, whereever he lived—whether that was in upstate New York or Florida.
He is survived by his wife Paige of Loon Lake, four sons Daniel (Stacie) Jaeger of Knoxville,TN; Thomas (Sara) Jaeger of Ormond Beach; David (Laura) Jaeger of West Hartford; Philip Jaeger of Daytona Beach; eight grandchildren; one brother Arthur Jaeger of Quakerstown, PA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
