Larry passed away peacefully at home, May 12, 2025, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. He is so deeply missed by all who knew him. Larry was born on January 26, 1966, in Houston, TX to Larry and Illona. Larry attended Katy High High School and the University of Houston. He spent the last 35 years living in various states throughout his career in the Sports and Entertainment industry managing ticketing operations. He held positions in the business offices of the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, Kansas City Royals Baseball, Los Angeles Clippers, Washington Commanders, L.A. Lakers, Houston Aeros Hockey, Texas Motorplex Car Racing, in Ennis, Texas, just to name a few. Most recently, he was a founding member and visionary for a successful business solution used widely in venues around the globe, TixTrack, and Vice President of Ticketing Services. We are proud to know he was regarded as an expert in the live entertainment ticketing industry and well respected in his field.
Besides being a dedicated and lifelong "workaholic", the industry was also the source for his favorite pastimes live music and sports. He absolutely loved rock n' roll and likely attended hundreds of concerts (not counting work related). His favorite rock and roll bands were Rush, KISS and Metallica to name a few. He was also an avid sports fan. If he wasn't playing softball with his buddies, he had a live game going on TV - either baseball, football, or basketball. When at home, he was never far from a guitar or short on his signature drink, Dr. Pepper. Though he could be very stubborn and opinionated (IYKYK!), he was also very witty, made friends everywhere he went, always had something funny to say, overly generous, and so grateful for and appreciative of those who helped him in his professional and personal life.
Always the "daredevil", Larry often would partake in sports such as sky diving, bungee jumping, and parasailing (unbeknownst to his parents). He simply loved life and he tried to experience all the world had to offer. I think all would agree that he ran the gamut of personality traits, always busy, demanding, dedicated, bossy, creative, funny, impulsive, loving, generous to a fault, and his knowledge of music was second to none.
He is survived by his loving wife, Narintr ("Narin"); cherished daughters, Madison and Alyssa, and step-son, Jake; parents, Larry and Illona Chu; sister, Laura Adams and husband Lonnie; nephew, Bailey; and his furry friends dogs Buddy, Cocoa, and Pad Thai. He is also survived by his beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, lifelong friends, and esteemed colleagues who are also feeling this immeasurable loss.
