Alan Dale Waggoner was born on August,1 1955 in Sealy, Texas to Kenneth Dale "Smokey" Waggoner and Mary Jeanette Boiles Waggoner. Alan passed away on June 25, 2025, in Katy, Texas. Alan's roots in Katy, Texas shaped him tremendously. He was a proud graduate from Katy High School in 1973. He was active in Katy High School FFA alongside his father "Smokey" and brother Brian that he developed his love of Katy FFA and Rodeo.
Alan is survived by his beloved wife, Tina Waggoner of Katy, Texas and children Kendel Dale (Lisa) Waggoner Schertz, TX, Christopher Michael Tilley Katy, TX, Travis Waggoner, sister Debbie Sword of Bedias, TX, grandchildren Konstance Marie, Trinity Nevaeh and Adyson Nicole Waggoner of Schertz, Texas, Makayla Nicole Tilley (Tatar) Cleveland, Texas and John Ross Connor II Arkansas. Great grandchildren Alara Jane Rodriguez and Armando Joesph Rodriguez of Seguin, Texas. Sister in laws, Gay McCuiston (FV), Geronimo, OK, Karen Forester Katy, Texas and Jeanne Bates (Robert) SA Texas along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.
Alan was preceded in death by father Kenneth Dale "Smokey" Waggoner; mother, Mary Jeanette Waggoner; brother, Brian Lee Waggoner; daughter, Courtney Michelle Tilley Connor; grandson, Mikeal Daniel Tilley; brother-in-law, Harold Lester Sword; mother-in-law Betty Jean Watson; sister-in-law, Lenora Christine Martinez.
Alan is remembered for his love of God, Family, Friends, Dogs, Guns, and doing for others. Alan was an avid foodie who loved to cook. He had a passion for cooking and barbecuing. For Alan, happiness was staying up all night to smoke a brisket and watch people gather, laugh and enjoy the meal he had prepared while creating lifelong memories. Alan loved spending time with his grandchildren, endless summer vacations, telling them stories and his off-the-wall jokes and eating at all the new restaurants around Katy with them.
In closing, Alan was a good man, full of God's grace and love for others. When Alan was in the room, he was a strong presence as he walked with God. Alan's pride and joy were his grandchildren and his wife, who he placed on a pedestal 30 years ago and there she remained. He was a wonderful example of wisdom, kindness and generosity. Alan impacted every life he touched and will be truly missed by all that loved and knew him.
A celebration on life with be scheduled at a later date. May we all remember Alan by keeping his shining example of kindness and love alive in our own lives, spreading grace and warmth to those around us.
