Born on March 28, 1949, in Lewis County, Kentucky, Larry was the son of the late Myrtle (Hutchison) and Charles Hardeman. A man of strong character and unwavering dedication, Larry was known for his strong work ethic and the pride he took in everything he did. Above all, he found his greatest joy and purpose in his family. He devoted his life to ensuring they were cared for and supported.
Throughout his life, Larry enjoyed spending time outdoors and working with his hands. He found happiness in hunting, gardening, golfing, and woodworking, and he never missed an opportunity to cheer on his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at their athletic events. His presence in the stands will be deeply missed.
Larry worked for many years as a heavy machine operator, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues for the quality and integrity of his work. He was a proud and retired member of Union 103.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers: Glendell Hardeman, Bob Hardeman, Charles Hardeman, Delbert Hardeman, and Billy Hardeman; and one sister, Betty Ann Rucker.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 54 years, Patricia Nolen Hardeman; his son, Douglas Hardeman of Carthage, Indiana; his daughter and son-in-law, Donnetta and Joseph "Jody" Betley of Auburn, Indiana; and five granddaughters: Taylor Hardeman, Hayley Hardeman, Myka (Betley) Ruby, McKayla Hardeman, and Kenzie Betley. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Tayley Smith, Kingston Graves, Nora Graves, Teagan Bowling, and Paisley Messer.
