Funeral services for Larry "Don" "Catfish" Hodges, age 72, of Roanoke, will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Whaley officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Baptist Church cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 10th.
Mr. Hodges passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Lanier Health Services in Valley.
Survivors include one daughter, Kristal Cottle (Cody) of Roanoke; one son, James Hodges of Roanoke; one granddaughter, Paige Brown; a great-grandson, Daylon Taylor; three sisters, Carole Holt Powell of Valley, Linda Harrington of Ringgold, Ga. and Janette Cofield (Michael) of Roanoke; one brother, Charles E. Hodges of Roanoke.
Pallbearers will be Mike Cofield, Richie Harrington, Dalton Holt, Ray Staples, James Hodges, and Cody Cottle.
Dwaine Holt will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
A Chambers County native, Mr. Hodges was born August 3, 1951, the son of Randle and Cordie Woodard Hodges. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and had worked as an electrician with Amoco, BP and Mohawk. Mr. Hodges was an avid Alabama football fan, Roll Tide! He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janice D. Hodges; and a brother, Robert Bishop "Pete" Hodges.
Memorials may be floral or the family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to Quattlebaum Funeral Home to go toward final expenses.
