Larry Wayne Kappesser, age 78 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. He was born on June 22, 1947 to the late James W. and Marcella B. Morrison Kappesser. Larry was a member of IBEW 369 for 55 years. He retired from the Oldham County Water District in 2017 after 33 years of service. He was his grandchildren's biggest fan! He always had a perfect lawn and was a general "Fixer" of things.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, James M. Kappesser.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Sherry (Stratton) Kappesser; sons, Christopher Kappesser (Stephanie) and Bradley Kappesser (Jennifer); four grandchildren, Hayden, Paige, Ella, and Maya; siblings, Susan McMinoway and Robert Kappesser; and a host of relatives and friends.
Someone once said, surround yourself with someone who would want to make you be a better person. I would love to surround myself with 1,000 Larrys.
Visitation will be from 2pm to 8pm on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243 and also on Thursday, September 4th from 10am until 1pm. A celebration of Larry's life will be at 1pm on Thursday, September 4th at the funeral home, with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Memorials in Larry's name may be made to the Crusade for Children or St. Jude’s Children's Research.
