Larry Richards (61 years of age) passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on July 17, 2024. He was predeceased by his father Larry J. Richards, Mother Ugolina T. Yohe and stepfather Donnie, Sister Anita L. Carter and sister Hilary A. Richards.
He is survived by his daughter Angelena Richards (Dillon) of Myrtle Beach; his son Larry J. Richards III of Myrtle Beach, his Uncle Mariano Melandri (Franca) of Bologna, Italy; his sister Sandra Mascho of Myrtle Beach; his sister Christine Brown (Dennis) of Hubert NC; his granddaughter Lola Richards of Myrtle Beach and several nieces and nephews.
Larry was born a military brat in Riverside, California until his family was stationed at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base in 1970. He graduated from Socastee High School in 1981 (Once a Brave, Always a Brave). Directly after high school, he entered the roofing and construction industry which quickly became his passion for the next 40+ years.
Larry was an avid bowler and he continued to bowl in leagues until he no longer could. Fishing and roller skating were also among his favorite hobbies to enjoy with his children and his best friend, Ted. He even loved skating so much that he got a part time job at a roller rink where he and his children could enjoy the weekends together.
He was a Cub Scout Den Master for several years during his son's time in scouts. He loved being a role model for the young men. He was also involved with his daughter in girl scouts and took the troops on many camping trips.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the charity of your choice. Due to Larry's wishes we will be having a small private ceremony with family.
