Larry A. Wenk, 65, of Adams Center, NY, passed away on September 16, 2024, at Samaritan Medical Center.
Born on October 6, 1958, in Watertown, NY, he was the son of Arnold J. and Marlene (MacDonald) Wenk. Larry graduated from Indian River High School in 1976. A skilled mechanic, Larry worked for various businesses throughout the Watertown area for many years. He was also a passionate racer, competing in modified races at local tracks such as Can-Am, Evans Mills, Brewerton, and even across the border in Canada. His love for racing was a defining part of his life.
On November 12, 1988, Larry married Deborah E. Rogers of Clayton, NY, at the Evans Mills Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Adams Center. Larry was the proud owner and operator of Wenk's Trash Hauling, a business he ran from 1985 until his retirement on December 31, 2022.
In his free time, Larry enjoyed working on cars, riding ATVs, and was an avid NASCAR fan. He frequently attended races at Can-Am and Evans Mills.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Deborah E. Wenk of Adams Center, NY; his two sons, Adam Wenk and his wife, Beth, of Michigan, and Matthew Wenk of Adams Center, NY; his daughter, Stephanie Hitchcox, and her husband, David, of Manuet, NY; two sisters, Janet W. Mills and her companion, Vinnie Gillette of Florida, and Cheryl A. Makenson and her husband, Robert G. Makinson of Nepean, Ontario; and his cherished grandson, Mason Hitchcox.
