Lawrence Clark Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home - Louisville on Dec. 26, 2025.
Lawrence (Larry) Conrad Clark (June 8, 1944 - December 19, 2025)

Larry Clark lived his life the way his stories were told-full throttle, with heart, humor, and just enough mischief to keep everyone leaning in. He passed away on December 19 at Nazareth Home Clifton in Louisville, Kentucky.

Larry was married to Teresa Clark for 57 years. Their marriage was long, enduring, and marked by persistence, shared history, and the realities of a life fully lived. Together, they raised two daughters, Cate and Stacey, who knew their father as a strong personality-independent, and unmistakably himself.

He is survived by Teresa; his daughters, Cate and Stacey; his sister, Mary Jo Clark; his brothers, Bill and Del Clark; and many nieces and nephews, each of whom experienced Larry in his own unmistakable way-direct, memorable, and never boring.

A proud graduate of Trinity High School, Class of '63, Larry never stopped identifying as a Trinity football player. His connection to his teammates remained a defining part of his identity, rooted in shared experience, grit, and long memory.

Larry found joy and freedom on the Ohio River, boating with the breeze in his face and a beer in his hand, and on his Harley, chasing open roads with the same spirit that defined him in every season of life.

He was a natural storyteller-equal parts historian, entertainer, and hellraiser-spinning tales that grew better with time and were never told the same way twice. You didn't just listen to Larry's stories; you experienced them.

Larry Clark will be remembered for his larger-than-life presence, his unmistakable personality, and the laughter that followed him wherever he went. His stories will keep being told, his name will keep being spoken, and his spirit will continue to ride alongside all those who loved him.

And somewhere-there's no doubt-Larry is still holding court, telling a great story, and smiling at the trouble he managed to stir one last time.

The family extends sincere thanks to the staff at Nazareth Home Clifton for their patience and steady care shown to Larry during his time there. Join family and friends on January 22,2025 for his celebration of life 12:00pm -4:00pm with a service at 4:00pm at Highland Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville KY 40205.

My sympathy to Terry and all of Larry's loved ones. My husband, Bill, and I were friends of Larry's beginning in our high school days. Larry & Bill were classmates at Trinity and dedicated football teammates. Over the years we all lived in different states but when the opportunity to share time came up, things picked up where we all left off. Larry cared deeply about his family and friends. His obituary says it all!

Prayers for comfort and strength to Terry, Cate, Stacey and all the family.
