Lawrence Martin Obituary
Publish in a newspaper
He was born in Martindale to the late Aaron G. and Lena (Burkholder) Martin and was the husband of Mary (Nolt) Martin. They celebrated 51 years of marriage on October 15, 2025.
He was a member of Conestoga Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference). During his working years, Lawrence worked in maintenance for Sensenig's Feed Mill, New Holland.
In addition to his wife, Lawrence is survived by two children, Kathryn, wife of Carl Shirk of Lititz, Lucinda, wife of Leon Horst of Ephrata; 10 grandchildren, Lisa Shirk, Jeffrey Shirk, Justin Shirk, Julie Shirk, Megan Shirk, Michelle Horst, Wendall Horst, Brendon Horst, LeAnne Horst, Rosalyn Horst; five siblings, Aaron, husband of Esther Martin of Mohnton, Harold, husband of Erma Martin of Ohio, Lena Mae, wife of Frank Hoover of Ephrata, Nelson, husband of Lucy Martin of Ephrata and Susan, wife of Curvin Zimmerman of Ephrata.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lydia and Edna.
The family wishes to give a special thank you to Hospice and Community Care for the wonderful care they gave to Lawrence.
A viewing will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, at the late residence, 414 East Fulton Street, Ephrata. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 1 PM, from the late residence, with further services at 1:30 PM, at Conestoga Mennonite Church, 313 North Farmersville Road, Ephrata, with Biship Ammon Weaver officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
