Leda Mae Short, age 87
August 6, 1936 – November 5, 2023
Leda Mae Short, age 87, of Willow Hill, Illinois, passed away at 7:45 PM - Sunday, November 5, 2023, near Willow Hill, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Potter's House Ministry, 1 Kennedy Drive, Newton, Illinois with Loretta Tolliver officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at the church. In loving memory of Leda, memorials may be made to Family Life Center in Newton, Illinois. Arrangements are in the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. The obituary can be viewed, and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.
Leda Mae was born on August 6, 1936, in Stone County, Missouri, the daughter of Herbert and Hazel (Curtis) Bloomer.
Leda worked at ERBA for many years as well as in home health care.
Leda was a member of the Unlimited Glory Church in Wheeler, Illinois. She was very artistic, loved crafting, making fairy houses and flower arrangements.
Leda is survived by her children-
Patricia Baker of Willow Hill, Illinois; Sandy Steinman of Willow Hill, Illinois; Sharon Reynolds of Wheeler, Illinois; Cheryl (Donnie) Ford of Newton, Illinois; and Michelle Abraham of Newton, Illinois.
Brothers - John Bloomer of Champaign, Illinois; and Irvin (Barbara) Bloomer of Branson, Missouri
22 Grandchildren 55 Great Grandchildren 35 Great-great Grandchildren
Leda was preceded in death by her parents, children Kenneth Staley, Tracy Ball, David Ball, and Pamela Worton, grandchildren Joshua Thoele, David Childress, and Michael Abraham, brother James Bloomer, and sisters Dena Staley and Betty Walker, and a special friend Robert Bremer.
