Leon George Brohl of Macomb Township passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022 at the age of 77.
Leon was born on June 26, 1944 in Mount Clemens, Michigan. He was a son of Leon A. and Cecelia (Weingartz). In 1966, Leon married Geraldine (Meerschaert) and they spent 55 years together and raised four children. He served in the Army National Guard for six years. Leon was a farmer andworked on the family farm, in the greenhouses and raising vegetables. He was a long-time member of St. Isidore Catholic Church in Macomb Township and was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7200, 4th Degree of the Sacred Heart Assembly. Leon loved animals and took care of every animal that was dropped off at the farm over the years. He enjoyed puzzles; taking drives without a destination in mind; driving tractors and his John Deere Gator; and tending to his garden and fields. Leon was a hard worker, always providing for his family. His family meant everything to him and he loved them all very much. Leon will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Leon is survived by his wife, Geraldine; children, Mary (Christopher) Kelly, Barbara (Matthew) Gates, Michael (Jessica) Brohl and Kathleen (Christopher Bohm; grandchildren, Noah Kelly, Liam Kelly, Christopher Bohm, Evan Kelly and Caleb Bohm; sister-in-law, Marilyn Brohl; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Leon was predeceased by his brother, Raymond Brohl and parents, Leon A and Cecelia Brohl.
The visitation for Leon will take place on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Monday, May 16, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at Hauss-Modetz Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb. The Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 with an instate time of 9:30 a.m. at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 18201 23 Mile Road, Macomb. The committal service will be private for the family of Leon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Knights of Columbus Council 7200 or a charity of your choice.
