Lester Loyless, Jr., 91, of Louisville passed away peacefully at his home on the morning of November 22, 2025.

Lester was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose calm presence, quiet strength, and steady kindness touched everyone who knew him. He lived a long, full life marked by hard work, generosity, and deep love for his family.

Les was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Sr. and Mary Loyless, his son Monty Loyless of Midland, Texas, and his grandson Patrick O'Daniel.

He is survived by the love of his life for more than 40 years, Vicki Brewer, and by three of his children: Vicki Sumler (Greg) and Todd Loyless (Sonya) of Louisville, and Jeff Loyless (Kim) of Bardstown.

Les also embraced and loved Vicki's three children as his own: Rhonda O'Daniel (Carl) and Shannon Conlin (Adam) of Louisville, and Sean O'Daniel (Angie) of Tucson, Arizona.

Amongst all his children and blended family, he was the proud and adoring Grandpa/Papa to 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren-one of the greatest joys of his life.

Les was a proud graduate of Valley High School, Class of 1952, where he was a standout athlete and was honored as Mr. Basketball.

He retired from General Electric after over 30 years, then continued working his dream job at Harmony Landing Golf Course. Les and Vicki were long-time UofL season ticket holders and true super fans of Cardinal sports. Les made lifelong friends as a member of the Toro Club of Louisville, and he cherished his time boating on the Ohio River. His happiest moments often included traveling, enjoying good times with friends and family, and spending time with his beloved dog, Georgie.

The family is especially grateful to Mike, Jan, and Susan, whose loving care and support allowed Vicki to honor Les' final wishes to remain at home.

In keeping with his wishes, Les donated his body to the University of Louisville School of Research and Medicine, a final act of generosity that reflects the kind of man he was.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 25,2025 from 3–7 PM at Owen Funeral Home, 9318 Taylorsville Road in Jeffersontown.

The family is deeply grateful for the love, support, and prayers during this time and requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice of Louisville or The Home of the Innocent, as Les requested.
