Mrs. Leta Lloyd Ellington, 95, of Graham passed away peacefully at Brookdale Burlington Assisted Living on September 9th, 2025.

Leta was the daughter of Nevie Green Lloyd and Clara Lloyd, both deceased. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-eight years, Billy Ellington, brothers Robert Lee (R.L) Lloyd, Dalton Lloyd, Everette Lloyd, and special friend David Atwater.

Mrs. Ellington was born in Orange County in 1929 but lived most of her life in Alamance County. She retired from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was a long-time member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

Mrs. Ellington is survived by her daughter, Gail Thomas and husband Joseph of Pittsboro; son Steve Ellington and wife Janna of Graham; three grandchildren, Laura Thomas, Austin and Ryan Ellington; sisters Peggy Mason of Winston-Salem and Eleanor Johnson of Graham.

A service celebrating Leta's life will be held on Sunday, September 14th, 2025, at 3:00 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Pittsboro. The family will receive friends at the church at 2:00pm prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Reverend Travis Bodine will be officiating the service.

Memorials may be directed to Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 5043 Mt. Olive Church Rd, Pittsboro, NC 27312 or to a charity of choice.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to her friends and family, her aides Tracie Harrell, Sherry Brooks, June Darko and to the staff of Brookdale Burlington Assisted Living and AuthoraCare.
