In the coming days we will gather to celebrate the extraordinary life of Lewis Roger Parsons, who passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025.
Lew was a man of immense spirit, intelligence, and humor.
He was born 79 years ago to Virden (Vern) Kenneth and Bertha (Bert) Sophia Parsons. He was the third of four brothers—Vernon, Kenneth, and Gene—and a proud US Army Veteran.
To know Lew was to be entertained. He was a world traveler with a memory for a plethora of information, always ready with a witty remark or an incredible story.
He found his joy in music, a very talented musician who helped form a band, The Four Checks, while attending Murray High School, along with 3 fellow music enthusiasts - Greg Bird, Big Daddy Reed Davis, and Tim Simmons. They were later joined by Lew’s little brother, Gene. In the 70’s, Lew played electric guitar in his band, Parallax, also alongside Gene. He enjoyed quiet hours with his acoustic and would often sing to his girls when they were young.
His hands were also busy with his other passion, tinkering on old cars.
For the past 35 years, Lew’s heart belonged to Gayle Behle, 'Lady Dean,' with whom he built a beautiful life.
His legacy lives on through his three loving daughters, Stephanie, Debra, and Chris, and his six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two older brothers, Vernon and Kenneth.
Lew, our traveler, musician, and friend, our dear old dad, you will be deeply missed. We love you.
