Linda Blanke, who was known locally for her quick wit, robust laugh, and love for all things sparkly, has recently, we can only assume, relocated to a celestial craft room. Born on March 7, 1961, in Tooele, UT, Linda lived life with a creative spark and a humorous flair. She passed on January 23, 2024, presumably not before leaving one last prank for us to find.
Linda was a woman of many talents, and she knew it. She could be found engrossed in her diamond art, quilting, or pulling off the occasional prank (especially on her children). She was an incredible storyteller, her favorite genre being the dirty joke. Her stubborn nature and ability to butt heads were legendary, but so was her love for her children. Indeed, Linda was proud to have given birth to the first baby of 1992 at the Tooele Hospital. And let's not forget that time she won second place in a demolition derby - a testament to her fighting spirit and steering skills. To quote Maya Angelou, "You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them."
Linda leaves behind a legacy of laughter, creativity, and love, survived by her children Adam Cook, Nannette Perkins, Nick Swann, Angela Cook, and Ryan Cook, as well as her five siblings. She was preceded in death by her father John Perkins, mother Juanita Frank, husband James Blanke, and son Jason Swann. We're sure they're all up there now, sharing a hearty laugh at one of Linda's notorious jokes.
Come and celebrate the life of our beloved Linda on Monday, January 29, 2024. A viewing will be held at 9:30-10:45 AM at Tate Mortuary, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. In the words of Dr. Seuss, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." And knowing Linda, she would have preferred we all laughed.
We invite you to share your memories of Linda and upload photos to the memorial page. After all, the woman did love a good story.
