Linda Sue Marino, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. She was 71 years old.
Born on August 7, 1954, in Anniston, Alabama, Linda was the first of two children of Ottis Couch and Mary Lambert. She spent her early childhood in Anniston before her family relocated to Houston in 1961. A proud graduate of Spring Branch High School, Linda embarked on a remarkable 50-year career as a dedicated bookkeeper-a role she embraced with integrity and diligence.
On April 5, 1975, Linda married the love of her life, Tony Marino, in Houston, Texas. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. Linda was a devoted member of Glorious Way Church, where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life.
Linda's heart was her family. She found her greatest joy in her marriage, the birth of her children, and later, the arrival of her two cherished granddaughters. Known for her giving, caring, loving, and selfless nature, Linda lived a life that quietly but powerfully impacted those around her. She was truly beloved.
Her favorite moments were spent baking with her granddaughters, reading her Bible, and curling up to watch classic black and white detective films. Her favorite song, "I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me, reflected her deep and enduring faith.
Linda is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Lambert; her father, Ottis Couch; and her stepfather, Charles Floyd. She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Tony Marino; her daughter Amanda Lockhart and son-in-law Chad Lockhart; her granddaughters Kiersten and Kyleigh; her son Trey Marino and daughter-in-law Casey Marino; her sister Brenda Wilder; her niece Sheila Rivera; and her nephew David Lindsey.
A reflective funeral service will be held at Woodlawn funeral home chapel on Saturday September 6th to honor and celebrate Linda's life and the legacy of love and faith she leaves behind.
The visitation will begin at 10am followed by a graveside service at noon.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing Linda's life was full of grace, purpose, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
