Douglas- Linda Lou Singleton, 69, of N.E. Main St., passed away Monday, January 6, 2025, at UMass Hospital in Worcester after an illness.
She is survived by her wife of 9 years Marguerite Ferschke-McLaughlin; her much loved children Alicia Benshoof, Carmen Singleton McLaughlin, and Kyle Singleton McLaughlin; 3 grandchildren Alexis, Abagayle, and Amelia; 10 great-grandchildren Hunter, Lily, Jaxon, Mikey, Brooklyn, Theodore "Teddy," Noahlan, Aalliyah, Sullivan, Aubreyana, and one great-grandson on the way; her sister Patricia A. "Patsy" Wheeler of Pepperell; two step children Karen and Christopher; two nephews Tommy, and Bobby; three nieces Darlene, Donna, and Doreen; and many good friends. Linda also leaves Lynn's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly, and her faithful dog Louie. She was predeceased by her brother William C. "Billy" Singleton Jr., her former spouse Lynn Singleton, her brother-in-law Robert Wheeler and her good friend Lana who recently passed.
Linda was born in Nashua, NH on June 13, 1955, to the late William C. Sr. and Ann (Fisher) Singleton and was raised in Pepperell. She was educated at Country Day School of the Holy Union in Groton, Pepperell High School, and later at Clark University. She lived in San Jose, CA, for 24 years and was employed as a Graphic Design Artist for Bank of America. There, she also owned and operated a retail sock store, which she was proud of. Linda was adventurous, bubbly, and artistic. She was an avid reader and enjoyed many books written by her special author friends. She was a great cook and everyone loved the special meals she prepared.
Special mention and thanks to her niece Jenny Lienick for all her help during Linda's illnesses, also her former PCA's and friends Cookie and Gina. In the past year, Linda was accompanied by Ashley and Coralis who were dedicated to her as her aides, and she thought very highly of them. She will be missed by everyone who loved her, and her memory will live on.
Memorial calling hours for Linda will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 11am to noon in Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St. Whitinsville. A prayer service will be held at 12 noon in the funeral home.
