Linda Catherine Swavely, 79, of Fleetwood, was called home by her Heavenly Father on May 20, 2025, at Temple University Hospital. She was the wife of Gary Robert Swavely, Sr. They married in 1964 and shared 60 wonderful years together.
Born in Bryn Mawr, she was the daughter of the late Albert Theodore and Jane Elizabeth (Wright) Duranto. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1964, and Bryland Beauty School in 1967. Linda worked in the food service department of Albright College for 25 years.
Linda was a devout Catholic who loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and husband. She volunteered at St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church and School for 17 years, serving in various roles such as member of the Parent/Teacher Association, room mother for the school, and parish bingo worker. Linda lived her life with love for, and faithful devotion to, her God and charity towards others.
Linda is survived by her husband, Gary, Sr., children: Gary, Jr., Greg (Susan), and Shawn (Amy), nine grandchildren: Jonathan, Steven, Lauren, Ryan, Kristen, Caitlyn, Shawn, Jr., Meredith, and Alison, and two great grandchildren: Camryn and Baylor.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Tammy Swavely Scrobe, and siblings, Ronald Duranto and Dolores Fronina.
A visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 9:00-10:15 a.m. at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, with entombment at Gethsemane Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Guardian Angels RCC at 3121 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA 19605. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc, West Reading is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
