Linda Theresa Wimberley, born on April 21, 1963, in the bustling city of Los Angeles, California, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, in Andrews, Texas. Linda's zest for life and her kind-hearted nature touched all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and cherished memories.
Linda grew up under the golden Californian sun before her journey took her to Hobbs, New Mexico, where she completed her education, graduating from Hobbs High School. Her school years were filled with learning and laughter, setting the stage for the person she would become. Linda's passion for life was evident in every path she pursued, particularly in her career as a cook. She spent numerous years perfecting her culinary skills and took great joy in sharing her creations with others. Linda's love for cooking was more than a job; it was an extension of her generous spirit.
Her Christian faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing comfort in times of need. She was a member of Wesley Methodist Church for numerous years. Linda's belief in kindness and compassion was evident in how she lived day to day, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a word of encouragement.
One of Linda's most endearing qualities was her love for collecting Betty Boop items. Her home was a vibrant testament to this passion, with each piece telling a story and adding to the tapestry of her interests. Linda's collection was not just a hobby; it was a reflection of her playful and nostalgic spirit.
Linda leaves behind her son, Scott Wimberley of Hobbs, New Mexico, three grandchildren Leeland, Sara and Sophia. Her brothers, Leonard Blanks of Early, Texas, and Bruce Blanks, along with his wife Claire of Gilmer, Texas, will hold dear the memories of their sister's unwavering support and shared moments of joy. Her stepparents H.O. and Wilma Blanks of Spring, Texas. Her nieces Kaye Stewart and Shea Baccus, nephew Kevin Blanks, and special friends, Betty Hestand of Andrews and Dotti Coon of Salina, Oklahoma, will forever cherish the times spent with Linda, each moment filled with laughter and kindness.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bobbie with Hospice Home Care and CeCe with Andrews Home Health for extending such exceptional care to Miss Wimberley during her final days.
Linda is reunited with her mother Arline Ahrendt and father L.T. Wimberley.
Linda Theresa Wimberley's journey on earth may have ended, but her story will be told for generations to come, a tale of a life lived with love, faith, and a touch of Betty Boop whimsy.
