Lloyd R. Klingbiel died peacefully at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc on June 1, 2024, at the age of 93. He was born in Manitowoc on December 3, 1930, the son of Carl and Helen (nee Schrank) Klingbiel. After graduating from Waukesha High School, he furthered his education at Marquette University and then in 1950 enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged in 1953. On January 23, 1964, he married the former Marie Leipski in Gary, Indiana; she preceded him in death December 27, 2007. Lloyd worked as storekeeper at Waukesha Engine until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of Waukesha Engine Old Timers, Trinity Lutheran Church, and the Waukesha Elks Lodge #400.
Lloyd is survived by his children Cheryl Ann Townsend of Idaho, Michael Donovan of Waukesha, DeEdmund (Deborah) Donovan of Genesee Depot, and Kathryn (fiancé Anthony Weidman) Klingbiel of Waukesha. He was a proud grandpa to 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his dear sisters Margaret Leipski of Mukwonago, and Joan Price of Pewaukee along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his beloved wife, Marie, he was preceded in death by his sons Mike Ruble, and Timothy Klingbiel, his sister Carol Davies, and his brother Robert Assmann Jr.
Visitation will be held on (PLEASE NOTE NEW DAY) Friday, June 28, 2024, from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1052 Whiterock Ave, Waukesha. Graveside services with full military honors will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
