Lois N. Bachofsky, age 83 of Erie and formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025. She was born in Pittsburgh on March 26, 1942, a daughter of the late John and Helen Novak.
Lois worked as a teller at PNC bank before leaving to raise her family. Later she worked part time at Lazarus Department Store, Macy's, and Giant Eagle.
She enjoyed playing bingo, going to church, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Nothing brought her more happiness than a visit from her grandchildren or the opportunity to see them on the stage, court, track, field or in the water.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Richard Bachofsky; daughters, Amy Moreland, husband Tadd of Valencia and Beth Potter, husband Mike of Erie; grandchildren Ashley and Abigail Moreland and Benjamin and Megan Potter. She was loved and supported by her husband's family including Father Kenneth and Pani Mary Bachofsky and their family as well as the family of Eleanor and Edward Pogyor. She was also grateful to have lifelong friends in Cheryl and Michele Tomko.
Friends are invited to call at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street, on Thursday, September 18th from 6 pm until a Panachida at 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 19th at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 1123 East Avenue at 10 am. Burial will follow in St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 1123 East Avenue, Erie, PA 16503.
