Lon Allen Martin, 69 of Rupert, WV passed away suddenly at Raleigh General Hospital after battling Liver Cancer.
He is preceded in death by his father Lonzo A Martin of Rupert, WV and is survived by his mother Carol P Koskie and brother Daryl A Martin of Wisconsin; Daughters Destiny E Martin of Charleston, WV, Melody M Martin of Waynesburg, PA and Julia R Martin of Painesville, OH: sons Ian A Martin of Rupert, WV, and Junior A Martin of Waynesburg, PA : grandchildren: Dylan, Brandon, and Briana Warren of Newport News, VA: Makenzi R Wilmer of St. Albans, WV: Mason A Wills of St. Albans, WV: Nicholas of Charleston, WV and Penelope Mount of Wheeling, WV.
Born in Oklahoma, raised in Mentor, OH and returning to WV in 1994, Lon worked as a Fabricator for most of his life, passing down his strong work ethic to his children. In his free time he loved to play the guitar as well as being outdoors, fishing, camping, gardening, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends. Lon will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Raleigh General Hospital and Hospice of Southern West Virginia for the compassionate care shown to Lon and his family in his final days.
There will be no funeral services as the Family will hold a private burial at the Family Cemetery in Smoot, WV.
