Church Point, LA: Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Monday, March 10, 2025 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Lorella LaVergne Sonnier, wife of the late Joseph Clarence Sonnier. 95 years of age, Mrs. Sonnier entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 6, 2025. Her parents were the late Theobert LaVergne and Amanthe Elkins LaVergne.
A proud mother of seven, Mrs. Sonnier is survived by all of her children: Errol A. Sonnier and wife Mary Ann; James P. Sonnier and wife Libby; Joseph Gary L. Sonnier and wife Sharon; Diana Sonnier Thibodeaux and companion Buster Braud; Mary Elizabeth Sonnier Hash; Christopher Neil Sonnier and Matthew K. Sonnier and wife Sonia. Mrs. Sonnier was truly blessed with thirteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, a brother and two sisters-in-law along with numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will include four of her sons, Jacob Caldwell, Bren Hash and Ty Turner. Honorary pallbearers are Aby LaVergne, Adam Doucet and Brandon, Logan and Christopher M. Sonnier.
Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 10:00 AM Monday until the time of the Services. A Rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of the Church, will conduct the Services with entombment immediately following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Daigle and the staff of Sunset Medical Center, her long-time caregivers and Hope Hospice for their loving care. Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home, Inc.; 219 N. Broadway, Church Point, LA (337) 684-5488.
