Lorinelle Gath, age 91, of Lafayette passed away Wednesday evening February 12, 2025 at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Lafayette where she had been a resident since January of 2019. Lorinelle was born in near Greentown in Tipton County, IN July 26, 1933, the daughter of the late Ora Allen and Sylvia Grace (Walker) Hinds. She was a graduate of Eastern High School in Howard County, and had been employed as a CNA for 30 years, last working for St. Anthony’s Healthcare. Lorinelle married Leonard Gath, Jr. in West Lafayette April 1, 1989 and he preceded her in death October 19, 2008.
Surviving is a son, Gregory Eugene Campbell (Ann) of Lafayette; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sheryl Jean Nichols, Debra Lynn Smith; a son, Dale Edward Campbell; a sister, Madonna Renbarger and a brother, Evan Hinds.
Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St. in Lafayette from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Wednesday February 19. A graveside service will be held at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens 11:30 AM Wednesday February 19. Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home of Lafayette is caring for the Gath family.
