Lorraine Marie Oskorep "Skore" (Sowka) 1939-2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine Marie "Skore" Oskorep (née Sowka), a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved friend, who peacefully entered eternal rest on July 15, 2025, at the age of 85, in Willowbrook, Illinois.
Lorraine was born on August 27, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, to Ben and Marie Sowka. She was a loving sister to the late Mary Ann and Jimmy.
Lorraine was the beloved wife of the late Frank T. Oskorep, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Together, they raised six children who were the center of her world: sons Frank, Bob, and John, and daughters Karin, Denise, and Diana. She was also a dear mother-in-law to Lisa, Apple, Grace, Glenn, and Tom. Her legacy continues through her 14 adoring grandchildren: Nick, Kevin, Johnny, Natalia, Savannah, Sasha, Sophia, Jon Luca, Avaha, Nathan, Hannah, Ben, Ethan, and Kara. Lorraine was a cherished cousin, aunt, and friend to many.
Lorraine lived a long and fulfilling life rooted in family, faith, and community in Hickory Hills and Palos Hills, Illinois. Her life was defined by her enduring love for her family. She worked tirelessly to provide for her children, ensuring they were raised with strong Christian values, a good education, and an abundance of love. Her home was a place of warmth, togetherness, and cherished traditions, a gathering spot for friends and family where countless memories were made. Lorraine's unique spirit and boundless love left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Lorraine may be gone from our sight, but her spirit will forever live in our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her!
Services: A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday August 9, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Patricia Catholic Church entrance hall, located at 9040 S. 86th Avenue, Hickory Hills, Illinois.
A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Patricia Catholic Church, 9040 S. 86th Avenue, Hickory Hills, Illinois.
A Celebration of Life Luncheon will follow from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Janosik Banquets 9126 S. Roberts Rd. Hickory Hills, Illinois 60457.
