Lorraine Carol Paradis

Lorraine C. Paradis(Wojtkiewicz), age 89, of Norwich, Connecticut, passed away on January 28, 2024, in New London, Connecticut, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 27, 1934, in Norwich, Connecticut, to the late Joseph and Margaret Wojtkiewicz. Lorraine was a loving, caring, and kind individual who always put others before herself. She didn't like people fussing over her and would give anything to her family. Lorraine was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Lorraine is survived by her sons: Thomas Paradis and his wife Li Jie Chen, David Paradis and his wife Judy, Richard Paradis and his wife Melanie, and Kenneth Paradis. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kristi Majewski and her husband Dane, Adam Paradis and his wife Kelsey, Aaron Paradis, and Katie Paradis (Ryan), as well as her great-grandchildren: Mila Minzy, Fallyne Paradis, Allison Majewski, Farrah Paradis and another great-granddaughter on the way who will share her name. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Paradis, her brother, Joseph Wojtkiewicz, and her sister, Ann Shaffer.
Lorraine attended Norwich Free Academy and graduated in 1952. She furthered her education at Mitchell College, where she graduated in 1954 with an associate's degree in secretarial studies. Lorraine dedicated over 20 years of her career to Backus Hospital, working in the Environmental Service Department before retiring.
In her free time, Lorraine enjoyed camping and going to the beach during her early years. She also had a passion for watching football and baseball games. Later in life, she found solace in activities such as solving crosswords, coloring, and watching the game show network.
A Mass in memory of Lorraine will be held Friday February 2, 2024 at 11a.m. at St. Mary's Church,
70 Central Ave in Norwich. Burial will take place immediately following at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 815 Boswell Ave in Norwich.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Norwich Senior Center, 8 Mahan Dr. Norwich, CT 06360, in honor of Lorraine's memory.
