Louise Banning Flusche, 96, of Wichita Falls, passed away on March 3, 2025, surrounded by her family.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 2601 Lansing Blvd, Wichita Falls, Texas. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
Louise was born on April 7, 1928, in Burkburnett, Texas, to Henry and Norma Frazier Banning. She married Herbert J. Flusche on December 14, 1948. They were married for 55 years before his death on October 31, 2004. Louise began her career at Southwestern Bell as a switchboard operator. She then moved to Continental Pipeline Company in Wichita Falls where she worked for the next 25 years before retiring in March of 1974. Louise and her husband were founding members of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She was an active member of the Altar Society and started their turkey dinner, which is still an annual event. She was a member of the S&B Club for over 45 years. The members met every Tuesday to stitch and "complain"! For many years, Louise and her husband spent summer weekends entertaining friends at their lake house.
Along with her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband Herb; sister and brother-in-law, Nettie and Jim Blackwell; brother, Leroy Banning; and son-in-law Terry Papak.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Diane Papak, Karen LeVasseur, and husband Matt LeVasseur; her grandchildren, Jeff and Gina Papak, Mark Papak, Jordan and Kaitlin LeVasseur, Kimberlee LeVasseur and fiancé Neill Marshall; and seven great grandchildren. She also leaves behind five nieces - Pat Blackwell, Paula Raymond, Betty Clawson, Terry Hendrix, and Sherry Ascolese.
The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers at House of Hope, especially Esther, Dawn, Paula, Haley, Victoria, and Alyssa. We would also like to express our appreciation to Hospice of Wichita Falls for the care provided to our mother and our family during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace Building Fund, 4040 York St, Wichita Falls, TX 76309.
