Louise J. Turner
Lansing
2/19/1935 – 11/11/2025
Louise J. Turner of Lansing, Michigan, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the age of 90. Louise was born February 19, 1935 the daughter of Howard and Mildred Allen. She graduated from Rockford High school in 1953 where she met and married the love of her life, Jack Turner in 1955. They enjoyed a strong partnership that would last over 66 years and take them on many golf vacations, couples' championships, and adventures.
Louise enjoyed an active high school life where she belonged to Future Homemakers of America (FHA), Y-Teens, Future Teachers Club, Spanish Club, and was a cheerleader for Rockford High sports. Throughout her years at Rockford High she had a large group of friends who called themselves the "Gang". It didn't matter what they did, it was going to be fun and involve a lot of laughter and probably just as much mischief.
Her first job was in high school for a florist in downtown Rockford. This sparked her passion for making beautiful silk and fresh floral arrangements throughout her life. She was especially proud to have made her daughters' and granddaughters' wedding bouquets and altar arrangements. She also arranged flowers for the church altar for over 40 years and was a member of the Lansing Garden Club.
Growing up, Louise loved to bowl with her parents and friends. Once she married, however, she made the swift decision to learn how to golf. As she put it, "If I didn't learn how to play golf, I would never see my husband!" And learn she did. Louise scored her hole-in-one before Jack did! Together they enjoyed many years as members of the Grand Ledge Country Club playing in the couple's leagues where they brought home a trophy or two. Louise also played in the Ladies League where she enjoyed the friendships she made just as much as the golf.
Louise was very active in Trinity United Methodist Church from 1965 until they closed some 50 years later. Church, faith, and goodwill were Louise's mantra in life. She taught Sunday School and served on the Altar Committee.
Louise had a wonderful sense of humor, and was full of spunk. She made life fun for those around her, brightening the day with her humor, compassion and words of wisdom. One of her best she used when she wanted her children and husband to remember something, "Plug one ear so it doesn't fall out!" was used frequently. (It works!)
She loved her granddaughters, never missing a dance recital, wore them out shopping, and enjoyed fun summers on the golf course. She later delighted in her great grandchildren and loved getting down on the floor to play with them and listen to their stories. She was a proud and very fun Grandmother.
Although she loved her family dearly, the true love of her life was her husband, Jack. Their 66 years together were filled with love, laughter, golf, great food, wonderful friendships, funny stories, and more golf. They were deeply in love and it showed.
Louise was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed.
Louise is survived by daughters Rene (George) Lorencen and Cynthia (Clark) Beach, Granddaughters Emily (Nate) Andrulonis and Colleen (Candler) Eve, Great Grandchildren Savannah Eve, her namesake Cecilia Louise Eve, Ella Andrulonis, Braeden Andrulonis, Samuel Eve, Porter Andrulonis, Sister-In-Law Judith Brookover and Nieces Robin Turner and AnnaMarie (Kevin) Stover. She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband Myron Jack Turner.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at both Divine Living Center of Perry and McLaren Hospice; they were so wonderful with the care that they gave to Louise.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday November 19, 2025, at the Mills Funeral Home, Peters & Murray Chapel, Grand Ledge with visitation the hour prior. For those desiring, memorial contributions are suggested to McLaren Hospice or donor's choice of charity.
