Loyd "Gus" Gustaveson was a beacon of love, loyalty, and support to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Born in Ogden, UT on May 30, 1926, Loyd was a the embodiment of reliability. He dedicated his life to service, both in his professional role as a supervisor at Hill Air Force Base and in his countless acts of kindness within his family and friends.

Loyd's commitment to hard work and excellence was recognized through numerous honors he received during his tenure at H.A.F.B., where he retired in 1981. Despite his achievements, Loyd's humble heart found greater joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved playing golf, working in his yard, and using his exceptional handyman skills to serve others. Whether he was tinkering with an engine or remodeling a home, Loyd's dedication to helping others was unwavering.

In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Loyd served faithfully in many offices. His commitment to serving others was further exemplified in his role as a scout leader for the Boy Scouts of America.

Loyd was a loving father to his two children, Steven (Tim) Gustaveson, Lori (Todd) Boothe and a doting grandfather to his three grandchildren, Matt, Allie, and Ryan (Jackie) and his great-grandchildren, Molly, Milo, Violet, and Daphne and his sister Carol Stephens. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy, daughter, Jan, parents, Hugo and Ruth Gustaveson a brother, Mel, and a sister, Joyce.

Loyd's life was a testament to the power of love and the importance of family. His legacy of love, loyalty, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him.

The graveside service for Loyd will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd, Ogden, Utah. Please join us to celebrate the life of Loyd "Gus" Gustaveson, and to share cherished memories of our beloved father. We invite you to leave your memories and upload photos to Loyd's memorial page as we celebrate and remember his remarkable life.
