Luke Donald Short was born August 24, 1977, in Modesto California to Steve and Deantha Short, passed away November 20,2024. He was 47 years old.
Luke was the middle of three brothers and grew up in Mountain Home Idaho. As an adult he made his home in Heyburn, Idaho. On July 7, 2001, Luke married the love of his life Karlie, and together they built a beautiful family with five incredible children: Taylour, Kyndra, Lukas Hallee, and Logan.
Luke was the Jack of all trades, gifted with an unparalleled ability to tackle any challenge. Whether it was repairing a car, plumbing a sink, wiring a house, or crafting a custom tattoo, there was nothing Luke couldn't do. His hands were never idle, and his resourcefulness was matched only by his boundless generosity in helping others.
Those who knew Luke will forever remember his larger-than-life sense of humor. His quick wit and infectious laughter had the power to brighten any room, no matter the circumstances. Luke had an incredible gift for finding humor in life, often leaving family and friends doubled over with laughter.
Luke is survived by his wife Karlie, his five children, Taylour, Kyndra, Lukas, Hallee, and Logan. His mother Deantha Short and brothers Steve (Lili) Short, Charlie (Rachel) Short. His in-laws Eric and Amber Christensen, Jereud (Stacey) Uscola and Kayd Christensen and numerous nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his dad, Steve Short and his grandparents.
Rest in peace Luke. Your light will continue to shine through the lives you touched. We love you and will miss you. In lieu of flowers please donate to a local suicide prevention organization.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Hansen Mortuary in Rupert, Idaho. Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
