Luke Gabriel Vogel

Luke Gabriel Vogel came into this world in the same way he lived life, full force. He was born shortly after midnight at home, not having time to be bothered with a hospital on August 28, 2004. His parents Wendy Brader Vogel and Danny Vogel loved him at first sight. To know Luke was to love Luke. He had the ability to make every person feel valued. His smile and light were always bright. He had a charm that made every person feel important. Loved. He always went all in with his style and interests - from skateboarding, to music, to working out, to building his own pressure washer business. There was no half-way with Luke.
He will be missed, and there will be a huge gap in our family. He leaves behind his three brothers - Daniel James Jr (Haley), Nathan Thomas, and Jackson Ryan - and his sister Ella Christine. One of the greatest joys was watching Luke with his siblings: each of them sharing a special bond - oh the fun and laughter that filled our home. Ella and Luke are only 16 months apart and are like twins and the best of friends, and he protected and cherished her in a way that parents only dream of.
He was loved dearly by his grandparents Tom "Grandad" Brader, Teresa Brader, and the late Carol "Nanny" Brader, Val "Popsy" Vogel, and Eileen "GiGi" Vogel.
He will be remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and our large circle of neighbors and friends that are his 'Framily'. Listing all his dear friends, family, and people who love him and will miss him would take up pages; but just know, you loved him well.
One thing is for sure, 17 years was too short for all the life and love encased in you, Luke Vogel. May your life count and the love you gave be multiplied. To every young adult and teen who reads this and loved Luke, let his life teach you that one 'Yes' (to any pill, powder, or substance) could be the last decision you make that will cut your life way to short. Luke knew, and he was told and educated and yet somehow thought his 17-year-old brain was invincible - and thought it won't happen to me or it is not a big deal. It's a huge f**king deal, and our family will never be the same. However, as we grieve an unbearable loss, we do so with hope and faith, 'life is but a vapor', but eternity is waiting - where every tear will be wiped away, no more death or mourning or crying or pain.
-Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. John 16:22

We invite you to celebrate Luke's Life. Visitation and Memorial Service at Vineyard Church of New Orleans. 4340 Sal Lentini Pkwy, Kenner, LA 70065 on Saturday, July 16, 2022. Visitation from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m.
