Lupe Sotelo Aldaco, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 am. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at San Jose Catholic Church, immediately prior to a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with Father Juan Carlos Ramirez as celebrant. Burial will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery (New Section). No visitation will be held.
Lupe Sotelo Aldaco was born on August 6, 1962 in Pecos, Texas to Guadalupe and Maria Elena Sotelo. She graduated from Carlsbad High School after which she attended modeling school. On July 14, 1984 she married Albert Aldaco in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She was a member of the Catholic Church. For many years she was a dietary aid at Carlsbad Medical Center. Lupe loved spending time with her grand kids, being outdoors and cooking for her loved ones. Lupe was always helping others out and was always there for her family. She loved to sing and dance and will be remembered for her infectious smile and laughter.
Lupe was preceded in death by her husband Albert Aldaco, mother Maria Elena Sotelo and brother Arturo Sotelo.
She is survived by her father Guadalupe Sotelo (Carlsbad, NM), son Eric Aldaco and wife Venessa Aldaco (Carlsbad, NM), daughter Christina Castillo (Albuquerque, NM), sister Sylvia Lujan and husband Rick Lujan (Carlsbad, NM), brothers Ralph Sotelo (Carlsbad, NM), Joe Sotelo (Silver City, NM), grandsons Eric Aldaco, Jr., Izaiah Aldaco, Ethan Aldaco, Kendric Aldaco all of Carlsbad, NM, Malaqai Aldaco (Denver, CO) granddaughters Azayla Salas and Amaya Salas (Albuquerque, NM), Erielle Aldaco, Alexis and Daisha Nieto, Charlize Aranda all of Carlsbad, NM and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Eric Aldaco, Jr., Malaqai Aldaco, Izaiah Aldaco, Ethan Aldaco, Mark Lujan, and Rick Lujan.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Azayla Salas, Amaya Salas, Kendric Aldaco, and Erielle Aldaco.
