Lyndall Lee Johnson - age 81 of Cameron, MO passed away Wednesday evening, May 14, 2025, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO. Lyndall was born on June 7, 1943, the son of Clyde H. and Lula (Stroud) Johnson in Cowgill, MO. He was a 1961 graduate of Braymer High School. Lyndall married Linda Ivy on October 7th, 1962, in Independence, Missouri.
Lyndall started working at Ford Motor Company; later he was a mechanic for Kenworth in Kansas City for 23 years. After working at Kenworth he retired from Westfall GMC.
In his spare time he served on the Holt Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years. He was one of the first licensed EMTs in the state of Missouri. During his time on the department, he served as Assistant Chief and Chief. Lyndall also served on the board of directors of the Holt Fire Protection District. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of Braymer, Holt, Hamilton and Polo lodges. He served as the master of Holt, Hamilton and Polo and was the longtime secretary of Polo Masonic Lodge #232. Lyndall was also devoted to his faith and had been a member of the Holt United Methodist Church, Cameron United Methodist Church and Polo Community Church.
Lyndall enjoyed fishing, farming and John Deere tractors. Lyndall would do anything for anyone; especially his family, friends and Masonic brothers. Lyndall and Linda fostered numerous children over the years that needed a loving home and family. He will be greatly missed.
Lyndall was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Dee Smith; wife, Linda; sisters, Frances Chowning and Joyce Ann Smith; stepbrother, William Thomas Smith; granddaughters, Jenny Williams and Tabitha Cantwell and Stephany Carr and grandson, Robert Lee Downs. He is survived by his children: Larry Johnson (Wendy) of Excelsior Springs, MO, Lisa Holder (Stan) of Cameron, MO, Lonnie Johnson (April) of Cameron, MO, Lori Lamarr (Gene) of Polo, MO, Beverly Chrisco of Lee's Summit, MO, and Jody Cantwell (Lou) of Cameron, MO; brother, Donald Johnson (Joann) of Odessa, MO; sister, Joellen Buck of Cowgill; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Polo Community Church in care of the funeral home. A service celebrating Lyndall's life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 21st, 2025 at Polo Community Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, the evening prior, also at the church. Friends may call from 9 AM to 4 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cowgill Cemetery, southeast of Cowgill. Arrangements entrusted to the care and direction of Stith Funeral Home in Polo (660) 354-2214.
