With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lynne Schoenblum (née Marilyn Lindenbaum), age 84, on October 20th in her home in Warminster, PA. Lynne was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Jerrold Schoenblum. She is survived by her loving children, Scott (Francesca), Amy (Jonathan), and Matthew, and her four grandchildren: Michael, Andrew (Haley), Jordan (Isidor) and Sasha.
Lynne was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, where she graduated from James Madison High School and Brooklyn College, then went on to earn an MA in Library Science from CW Post on Long Island. As a children’s librarian—often dressed as a book’s main character—she delighted thousands of kids with the power of great stories. Lynne raised her family in Peekskill, NY where she was a devoted mother and created many fond memories. Later, she lived in NJ and PA, where she restarted her life with her trademark ability to seize the day and live in the moment.
She loved her dogs, having a good time, eating well, shopping, traveling, and laughing whenever possible. She found and valued the most wonderful friends throughout her life wherever she went. Lynne lived fully and loved fiercely. Her advice would be “always eat dessert first!” She will be deeply missed by many.
The funeral will be held at Rose Hills King David Cemetery in Putnam Valley, NY on Friday, October 24th at 12:45pm.
