Lynne Joyce Strange, 75, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 20, 2025 at St. Mary's Health Center. She was born on January 18, 1950 in Jefferson City, a daughter of the late James and Mary Lou (Neeley) Nevins. She was married on May 24, 1974 to Paul Strange in Jefferson City.
Lynne was a graduate of Helias High School and received an Associate Degree in Business from Metro Business College. She worked for the Missouri Highway Patrol, Hobby Lobby and had her own candle and scented oil business, Lyn Scents.
Lynne enjoyed traveling, fishing and shopping. One of her favorite past times was spent in the casino on the slot machines. She took delight in learning about her family history and spent many hours researching their genealogy. Most of all, she cherished creating memories with family.
She is survived by her two daughters: Nicole Drinkard and Victoria Strange (Jason), both of Jefferson City; two sons: Paul Strange, II (Carri) of Columbia and James Strange (Jessica) of Jefferson City; brothers: Monte Nevins and Sonny Nevins; sisters: Helen Lou Nevins, Paula Curry and Christie Holterman; grandchildren: Bryan (Abby), David (Kerstan), Brooke (Austin), Brittani (Dakota), Desira (Edward), Katlynd (Aubrey), Devin (Kayla), Julius, Jayden, Emma, Grace, Hannah, Noella and Rylenne; great-grandchildren: Aydan, Adryen, Rhyli, Korbin, Briley, Kinleigh, Gavin, Julian, DaLaney, Alysia, Draelyn, Marlee, Owen, Josie, Elaina, Rowan and Kaizen as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Lynne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul, and brother, Bill Nevins.
Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2025 with a celebration of life following at 3:00 p.m. at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to The Community Breast Care Project.
