Madeline Etta Mae Grant Obituary
A beautiful soul left us this a.m. with the angels by her side, Mrs.Madeline Grant formerly of Norwich, passed on Oct. 4,2024 at the age of 103 at Harrington of Colchester. She was born on Feb.22,1921 to Frank and Etta Mae Huntley of Maine. Married to Russell Grant Sr. for 33 years. She lived a full life, working hard raising a beautiful family. Each person that came into her life she loved as she did her Lord. At the age of 103, very alert, with a loving smile and a wonderful sense of humor, if she held your hand, her grip kept you in one place. She was predeceased by her husband Russell Grant Sr. and her brothers Francis, Halva, Myron and Buddy Huntley and sister Ethel Soucier.
Survivors include her loving family, daughter and husband, Donna and Earl Eldridge of Franklin, Mary Gibbs and son and wife, Russell Grant Jr and Corrine. She has left 13 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Nieces and nephews too many to mention and friends plus a like-daughter of many years, Vera and husband Greg Petranek of Mystic.
Funeral Service will start at 10am on Thursday October 10 at Leffingwell Church 388 Salem Turnpike, Bozrah, CT. Funeral will follow at Maplewood Cemetery 184 Salem Tpke Norwich CT. She will be deeply missed by all. Love one another like this special lady would want. A special thank you to the staff of Harrington for the love and amazing care you gave her.
