Born in the United Kingdom, he was the son of the late Edwin and Elsie Thatcher Oldroyd.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by his children, Andrew Oldroyd (Kimberly), David Oldroyd (Kandi) and Jennifer Oldroyd; his grandson (to whom he was affectionately known as "Dumpa",) Brandon Oldroyd; and his brother, Stuart Oldroyd.
