His Legacy Malcolm Darryl Steider, 86, passed away on August 20, 2025. He was born on February 13, 1939, in Peoria, Illinois to Henry Steider and Izola (Perrine) Steider. Malcolm married the love of his life, Linda Brata, on June 20, 1963, in Berwyn, Illinois. He will be remembered for his strong faith in God, dedication to his church and his dry sense of humor. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force and served the communities of Coldwater (1970-1996) and Howell (1996-2000) as a pediatrician. Malcolm's pride and joy was his family and spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Malcolm enjoyed all kinds of music as well as downhill skiing, woodworking, reading, hiking, biking, traveling, and eating all types of ice cream.
His Family Malcolm will be missed by his loving wife, Linda; his devoted children, Mindy VanVynckt, Danielle Steider, Becky (Dale) Grover; siblings, Kathryn (Jimmy) Rahmanzadeh, Stuart (Nancy) Steider, sister-in-law, Mary Steider; grandchildren, Daniel, Kaitlin (Jay), Laura, Jacob, Elijah; great grandchildren, Addison, Abigail, Oliver, Jasper; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Norman Steider.
His Farewell Malcolm's family and friends will gather 10:00-11:30 AM (11:30 Memorial Service), Saturday, September 13, 2025, at First United Methodist Church, in Howell, Michigan. Doug McMunn will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to First United Methodist Church in Howell, MI or Elara Caring Hospice in Brighton, MI.
